Welcome to my personal website. This site is dedicated to my beloved homeland,to the most beautiful country on earth, to SYRIA.
Syria - Modern Syria is situated in Asia along the eastern edge of the Mediterranean Sea. Syria is an Arab Middle Eastern County that encompasses a total area of 185,180 sq. km (71,548 sq. mi.). Syria has a coastline of 180 km (112) miles to the Mediterranean Sea. Syria shares borders with, Lebanon to the West, Turkey to the North, Iraq to the East, and Jordan to the South. Syria, also shares borders with Palestine to the south west. This border is the main conflict between Syria and Israel due to the illegal Israeli occupatuion of Al-Golan heights which was and still and will always remain SYRIAN land.
Syria gained full independence on April 17, 1946 ceding from French Colonialism Rule. Prior to French Occupation, Syria was part of the Ottoman Empire under Turkish Rule. Today Modern Day Syria is a vital Modern Arab Republic that stands for Arab and International Legitimacy Law. Syria is a member of the United Nations, the Arab League, the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and many other International Organizations.
At the national level, the Syrian political body is represented by the executive, legislative, and judicial branches. The president is the head of state and is directly elected every seven years. The 1973 Constitution gives the president executive powers to appoint all vice-presidents, the prime minister, and the council of ministers. The president is the commander in chief of the armed forces and the secretary general of the Baath Party. President Dr. Bashar al-Assad is serving his first seven year term as president.

Syria - The Cradle of Civilization.
Syria played an incomparable role in the history of mankind. It is often described as the Cradle of Civilizations, since many of the greatest human achievements that later spread to encompass the world had their beginnings in Ancient Syria, (which extends from Taurus Mountains to Sinai and from the Mediterranean to the Euphrates).
In this land, Man discovered the secrets of Agriculture and Metallurgy, and invented the very first alphabet. Religions, Philosophies, language of trade, systems of urban development, of diplomatic and cultural exchange; all these germinated in geographical Syria.
It has been rightly said,
"Therefore, that every cultured man belongs to two nations: his own and Syria." Historian Andre Parrot.
The Heart of The Arab World:
Syria was an Arab Kingdom long before the Arabs achieved glory with the coming of Islam, and has long been the home of Arab Nationalism. Today Damascus Which was for centuries the capital of the great Islamic Empire during the golden ages of Islam, prides herself, together with Aleppo and Hama, on being the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world.
The visitor from abroad, struck by the wholly Arab context of Syrian life, baffled by its novelty perhaps, at first, is soon entranced both by the hospitality, kindliness and friendliness of a people both masters in their own house and masters of themselves as well. Syria, so much a linguistically, historically, and politically, is a country of great natural diversity. This contrast between cultural unity and varied landscape is ideal for tourism. The visitor to Syria can follow an unbroken thread on the human level, in the arts and in folklore, while at the same time enjoying a constant change of scene which makes even the longest journey interesting.

ALEPPO: THE CITY OF INFINITE MAJESTIC BEAUTY
Ancient Aleppo (Halab):
City and capital of Aleppo province in the NW part of Syria. Situated at the crossroads of caravan routes between Europe and Asia it was for centuries one of the world's main trade centers. Originally a Hittite town it was contested by Egypt in the second millennium BC and was under the Kingdom of Urartu in the ninth and eighth centuries BC. Thereafter it came under many rulers including the Assyria, Persians, Romans, Byzantines and Arabs.
Cradled in a bowl of dry hills in northern Syria, the city of Aleppo presents an austere facade to those entering her ancient gates. Serious - tightlipped - sober; the adjectives often applied to her people convey a dignity befitting Aleppo's age for she vies with Damascus and Sana'a as the oldest existing city in the world.
Although ancient Aleppo's roots lie buried out of reach beneath the modern city legend connects the site to the prophet Abraham. As he journeyed southward to the land of Canaan he paused in Aleppo. He milked his cow on the citadel hill; thus the city's Arabic name Halab which is derived from the word for milk (halib).
Aleppo through History:
Next to Damascus, Aleppo (Halab) is the second largest city in Syria. Aleppo has a population comparable to Damascus. Aleppo has a distinct charm and incomparable history, it is also very modern and has all the plush amenities a traveler is in search for. Aleppo, has an international airport and is accessible, via train with other cities and countries.
Aleppo is the oldest inhabited settlement on earth. The earliest mentions of the city are recorded on stone tablets found at Mari, on the Syrian Euphrates, which date back to 2000 BC. From this time onwards, Aleppo was the capital of succession of prosperous city states, governed by the Amorites, the Hittites, the Assyrians, the Persians, and after 333 BC, by the Seleucid dynasty, founded by one of Alexander the Great's general who named the city Boroia. Other settlements included the Roman and Byzantine era.
During the Golden ages, Aleppo played a vital role as connection between the Muslim east and the west and until now, Aleppo enjoys great historical and cultural reputation all over the world.
